Elmira College is proud to have a chapter of Enactus USA, a non-profit organization whose purpose is to enable progress through entrepreneurial action across communities worldwide. Students, business leaders, and entrepreneurs from around the world partner to create projects to promote sustainability in communities.
Enactus USA was founded on three main concepts:
entrepreneurial—having the perspective to see an opportunity and the talent to create value from that opportunity;
action—the willingness to do something and the commitment to see it through even when the outcome is not guaranteed;
us—a group of people who see themselves connected in some important way; individuals that are part of a greater whole.
At Elmira College, we are using the principles of Enactus USA to enrich the sense of community in the Twin Tiers. By holding the Twin Tier Ties Community Expo, you are helping us to raise funds to showcase the projects that we do throughout the academic year at the Enactus USA Regional Competition in March 2018. The Elmira College Enactus team has been regional champions and national competitors since 1997.
We do a variety of projects throughout the year including Campbell's Let's Can Hunger Challenge, Green Grand Prix, Strokes of Hope, the Bahamas Scholarship Contest, and others. In order to enrich the community of the Twin Tiers, Elmira College Enactus developed the Twin Tier Ties Community Expo, which will allow residents, local businesses, and Elmira College students to discover the features of the area and learn how this area is the place that Elmira College is proud to call home.
By supporting the Twin Tier Ties Expo as a vendor, sponsor, or attendee, you are supporting young lives to pursue the entrepreneurial spirit that will help shape the future of America.
